Body Safety is teaching a child awareness of their own body to give them the skills and language to identify potential situations that make them feel unsafe. Stephanie V. Blank Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
The Stephanie V. Blank Center for Safe and Healthy Children, located in Atlanta, GA, “promotes the safety, protection and well-being of children though advocacy, as well as the identification, assessment, and prevention of child abuse."
The Blank Center has partnered with Sheltering Arms through a child abuse prevention program: ROAR. The program teaches body safety and gives children and families tools to talk about and stand up against child sexual abuse. “The Doctor Says: Let’s Talk About Body Safety” is a part of the ROAR curriculum.
